Bio

Peter C. Meinig was born in Pennsylvania and graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in 1961 and a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1962. In 1964, he graduated from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Meinig directed manufacturing companies in his home state and Mexico City from 1964 to 1980 and became chairman of the board and subsequently director of Electrocom Automation, Inc., in Texas from 1984 to 1994. After coming to Tulsa in 1979 to join HM International, Inc., he became chairman and CEO in 1999. A past member of the board of the Williams Companies, he served on the Tulsa Library Commission and was inducted into the Library Hall of Fame. With his wife, Mr. Meinig has endowed two professorships and the women’s tennis coach position at Cornell University in New York and the Meinig Family National Scholar Program.
