“There’s something about our state. The wild beauty, the pace, the space. Oklahoma gives me strength and it’s just where my soul belongs.”
Ree Drummond, 2018

Biography

Ree Drummond launched her career when she began blogging about life as a cattle rancher's wife on their more than 400,000 acres in the Osage and homeschooling her children. Content grew, including a food section filled with recipes, as did her fan base—attracting over 20 million page views per month. This lead to book deals and her first televised appearance on the Food Network's Throwdown! With Bobby Flay in 2010, where she beat the celebrity chef in a cooking contest. The following year, her successful television series, The Pioneer Woman was launched. In 2016 she opened the The Pioneer Woman Mercantile in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The 25,000-square-foot building, purchased and renovated by the Drummonds, includes a two-level restaurant, retail store, and bakery. The Mercantile brings an average of 6,000 people per day to her hometown. Earlier this year, she opened The Boarding House—a three-story, eight-room hotel right down the street from the Mercantile. With her husband Ladd, whom she refers to as the Marlboro Man, she is the mother of four.
