As a young man attending Dewey High School in Dewey, Oklahoma, Edward “Ed” Keller played every sport, was a student leader, and participated in school plays. He received a degree in finance from Oklahoma State University, where he also served as president of his fraternity and business fraternity, beginning his lifelong commitment to philanthropy and community. After graduation, Keller began his banking career at First National in Bartlesville, during which time he attended lending school and graduate school. He then moved to Blackwell to work at Security Bank and Trust before overseeing Rogers County Bank in Claremore as president. By 1978, he was executive vice president of First Oklahoma Bancorporation. He has also served as chairman and CEO of Bank IV, BankOne Oklahoma, and JPMorgan Chase Oklahoma. Keller served on the board of Saint Francis Health System and has chaired the Oklahoma Bankers Association, Oklahoma State University Regents, Tulsa Boys Home Board of Directors, Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, OSU College of Business Associates, and City of Tulsa-Rogers County Port Authority. He chaired the OSU-Tulsa Board of Trustees after realizing his dream of bringing a public-supported research university to Tulsa, for which he was named Tulsa’s Citizen of the Year. Keller was a member of the board of directors of Mutual of Omaha Bank Holding Corp, chair of the Oklahoma State University Medical Center Board, and a trustee of First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa. His honors include the OSU Alumni Association Distinguished Alumnus Award, induction into the OSU Hall of Fame, and the Tulsa Education Foundation’s Leadership in Education Award. Keller and his wife, Marilyn, have four children and seven grandchildren.
