It is important to enjoy the sunny weather as much as possible this summer! It is also important to remember to be active and keep moving. Let’s learn from Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member Dr. Kenneth Cooper who is known as the father of aerobics! He literally created the word. Aerobics are exercises that focus on the heart and lungs. Exercises like running, jump roping, and jumping jacks all are great for heart and lung health. Dr. Cooper graduated from both the University of Oklahoma and Harvard focusing on Public Health. While an Air Force doctor, he worked on developing exercises specifically for astronauts. He quickly became one of the most renowned and awarded doctors in preventative medicine.

Movie Time! Ever have someone count you out before you even tried? In sports, that happens quite often, but it is always important to understand that dreams and goals are never meant to be easy, but they are important. Follow along as this newly formed cross-country team gives it their all to be accepted by the rest!
Storytime! Exercise and being active is important, but do not just take Dr. Cooper’s word for it. Read about another Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member, Jim Thorpe, and his journey to becoming an unstoppable force of nature! Don’t forget you can also look for this book at your closest public library!
