Under the Sea Day - Ray H. Siegfried II

Today we’re grabbing our bathing suits and snorkels to head to the ocean! We’re going to explore the whole other world that lives below the sea. Today’s theme is inspired by Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member Ray H. Siegfried II. His hometown is Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Siegfried was a paratrooper in the US Army. Siegfried purchased NORDAM, an aerospace company and helped to make it very successful. Although he was an entrepreneur, Siegfried’s passion was the ocean. He was a founding director of the Tulsa Aquarium and helped fund the aquarium’s largest shark exhibit. You can learn more by reading Ray H, Siegfried’s Oklahoma Hall of Fame biography.

Although our state isn’t on the ocean, we have so many Oklahomans that love the sea! Check out Admiral Joseph James Clark who was in the United States Navy.
