Touchdown Day - J. C. Watts, Jr.

Today we’re catching the ball and running it in for a touchdown! There’s no better time to get outside and play some sports! Today’s theme is inspired by Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member J.C. Watts, Jr. His hometown is Eufaula, Oklahoma. After graduating high school, Congressman Watts attended the University of Oklahoma to play football on a scholarship where he was MVP for two Orange Bowl victories! Watts then played professional football in Canada for five seasons before returning to Oklahoma. He served as a youth pastor in Del City before entering public office and becoming a US Congressman. You can learn more by reading J. C. Watts, Jr. Oklahoma Hall of Fame biography.

Do you know any other Oklahoma football players? There’s Congressman Steve Largent, Jim Thorpe, and Coach Barry Switzer. And so many more!
