Darleen Bailey Beard is an award-winning author of picture books, chapter books, and middle-grade novels, many of which were nominated for the Oklahoma Sequoyah Award. She loves history, is an eighth cousin to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and has slept in the same bed as Teddy Roosevelt, though not at the same time. She lives in Norman, Oklahoma, and enjoys visiting schools and conferences throughout the nation presenting author talks and hands-on writing workshops to students of all ages.
